How to set-up your wireless router

This article takes a TP-Link TL-WR802N  as an example of a simple portable wireless router.

However, any wireless router, or even a wireless hot-spot (AP) created on your phone can be used.

The Recognoil 3W device and your PC running standalone Recognoil Cloud must be on the same Wi-fi network with IP address within range 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.254.

A DHCP Server must be switched on the router to assign an IP address to the Recognoil 3W. Again, the range of the DHCP server (IP Pool) should be set from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254 (/24 = subnet 255.255.255.0).

The IP address of your PC running standalone (offline) Recognoil Cloud must be 192.168.0.111, which can be set either

  • as a static IP address for the network adapter of the PC, or
  • as a reserved (client) address for the DHCP server within the router settings.

Please note that the Recognoil 3W supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-fi frequencies.
